About the Position:

The purpose of this role is to form part of the systems administration team, efficiently supporting the organisations environments. This particular individual will focus on security and application server administration but must have good applications and database skills.

Qualification and Experience:

You will need to have the following skills, experience & attributes:

·            3-5 years relevant experience in a similar role

·            Experience with installation, configuration and maintenance of open source solutions like Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, Postgresql, Mambo, Docu-wiki, and SNMP type monitoring

·            Experience in Java based development environments

·            3-5 years experience in both Linux and Windows server environments, Linux being predominant

·            Knowledge of Oracle upgrades, installations, and performance tuning

·            Experience in scripting essential, bash, perl and php would be preferable

·            A proven track record

 

Advantage to have the following:

·            Experience with Oracle Applications (i.e. Collaboration Suite, E-Business Suite) installation, configuration and maintenance would be beneficial

·            ITIL certification advantageous

·            Oracle Application Server 9i / 10g certification (OCP) would be advantageous
